Following last week’s demonstration at Downing Street, yesterday’s national demonstrations across the UK sent a clear message to anyone watching that the British public are starting to see through the political smoke and mirrors. Panama Papers aside, the last 20 years in the UK has seen a carefully socially engineered reduction in the support for the less-monied classes in Britain in favour of bolstering the extreme wealth of the self-satisfied self-serving privileged classes.  Money hoarding seems to have become a niche speciality of financial services here in the UK and “we” are very very good at it!

The top three government parties have ALL contributed to this state of affairs over the last 20 years. In aghast we witnessed Labour’s crushing of student grants in 1998 and Blair’s insatiable thirst for warfare, through to the miserable Austerity Programme introduced by the coalition of Tory and Liberal Democrat leadership in 2010, and now we fasten our seat-belts for the Tory’s blunt executions of self-preservation policies as it serves the City of London Corporation and other tiresome old boys networks.

So these public demonstrations bring together many voices from so many sections of society who realise there is no decent leadership and governance in the UK right now, and hasn’t been for quite a long long time. Just like our melting polar ocean icebergs, at what point do we seek a change before it all becomes irreversible or beyond any control?

Are we ready to carve out what we want now for a better future?

Are we ready to carve out what we want now for a better future?
